What role did bethesda have in fallout new vegas?

ALright I played fallout 3 and loved it and new vegas is pretty good so far. Obsidian published it but bethesda produces it, I can tell it's the bethesda engine and graphics but which team did the writing, artwork, story ect. SO who did what part of the game and what is the role of the publisher and the producer in a game? Please give me credible knowledge. What role did bethesda have in fallout new vegas?
Obsidian did not publish it. Bethesda did. Obsidian produced/created it. The only thing Bethesda had to do with this game was that they created the engine the game uses and they are distributing it for Obsidian.

The producer is usually whoever bankrolls the development and also usually is the team that actual creates/develops it as well. Sometimes the developer and the producer are separate.

The publisher/distributor is the one who takes the final product and ships %26amp; markets it and makes deals to get it sold in stores or online.

In this case, Obsidian is the producer and the developer, and Bethesda acted as the distributor/publisher.

Ironically the game uses story elements and characters that are based on the original concept for Fallout 3 (Van Buren) as created at Interplay. These elements are owned by Bethesda because it purchased them from Interplay when it bought the Fallout franchise from them.

The ironic part is that Obsidian is made up largely of people who were part of that original Van Buren team who got together after leaving Interplay So they have to pay Bethesda to use what essentially were their own ideas in the first place.
