Can someone identify the possible cause of my Fallout New Vegas crashing?

The crash occurs without any indication or an error message. I play for a few minutes, and then the game just turns off, in the same manner as exiting the game from the menu. There are no messages to indicate that an error occurred and there are no causes given. It just happens, and it's extremely frustrating. I am aware of the fact that the PC version of Fallout New Vegas is practically broken right out of the box due to Bethesda's incompetence, so I have been waiting for patches to fix this bug and none have helped. Does someone have the same bug? Anyone know how to deal with this issue? Can someone identify the possible cause of my Fallout New Vegas crashing?
These are all just guesses cos i haven't experienced this but they could fix the problem:

1. Your computer isn't good enough, not sure cos you haven't said your PC specs.

2. Not sure if your at start of game or part-way through, but it could be a corrupt save, try starting a new game.

3. Faulty install, could try reinstalling it.

Hope any of those helps you out, Fallout is awesome, but bug ridden.

Also, it wasn't Bethesda, they just published it. Obsidian developed this game.
