Can someone identify the possible cause of my Fallout New Vegas crashing?

The crash occurs without any indication or an error message. I play for a few minutes, and then the game just turns off, in the same manner as exiting the game from the menu. There are no messages to indicate that an error occurred and there are no causes given. It just happens, and it's extremely frustrating. I am aware of the fact that the PC version of Fallout New Vegas is practically broken right out of the box due to Bethesda's incompetence, so I have been waiting for patches to fix this bug and none have helped. Does someone have the same bug? Anyone know how to deal with this issue?Can someone identify the possible cause of my Fallout New Vegas crashing?
These are all just guesses cos i haven't experienced this but they could fix the problem:



1. Your computer isn't good enough, not sure cos you haven't said your PC specs.



2. Not sure if your at start of game or part-way through, but it could be a corrupt save, try starting a new game.



3. Faulty install, could try reinstalling it.



Hope any of those helps you out, Fallout is awesome, but bug ridden.

I have Fallout 3 the game of the year edition which includes all five of the DLC's that you could download seperately. It was a great deal for $40. I buy it because even without DLC the game will last you a long time and its only $20 now. Plus some of DLC can be skip. I think it's great idea that you choose to wait instead of buying it right now, I did the same for F3 like you did.



There is no announcement of it yet but Im pretty sure they will release a GoTY version of New Vegas before the end of the year, so just hold on. If you decide to buy it right away, you would spend double by having to purchase the base game and the DLC separately.



I'm very positive that New Vegas GoTY will be released quite soon.

If you don't want to use Luck or your are using a mod which negates the Luck bonus the easiest way to win some (small however) amount of caps is to play Roulette and Place 100 bet on 1-12 and 100 on 13-24 (or else) so you have 66% to win 100 caps. If you play on PC I recommend higher bets mod since playing for 100 caps is boring

you need to have luck of at least 6/7 to actually do any winning and even 6 is pushing it.as was mentioned,go to mick and Ralph's to get the sexy sleep wear,it has speech +10,luck +1.also if you haven't gotten any of the implants you can get the luck implant for 4000 caps.don't forget once you make about 10,000 - 13,000 caps at each of the casinos,you get shut off from gambling,you can still go in but you cant gamble.i don't know if the same thing happens in primm and in freeside at the atomic wrangler because i never bothered to try winning that much at either place.the only other way to get tons of caps is to take the patch off and do the chip glitch in primm.hope this helps.good luck in new vegas.Can i have some gambling tips for fallout new vegas?
The gambling is based on the LUCK skill. If you have 9 or 10 points in it you win almost every time. If you have 5 or less, you will constantly lose.

You will have to take the scenic route. From Goodsprings you will go south a little then east for a bit, and then north for a good bit. You will start seeing the lights.How to get to new vegas in fallout new vegas?
Taking Interstate 15 north is just asking for trouble. Deathclaws freely roam the areas north of Quarry Junction and will attack you on sight.



Your best bet is to take the road out of Goodsprings, then head SOUTH on I-15 through Primm.



Head south past the old Nevada Highway Patrol Station until you can see a building on the west side of the road; that's the Nipton Road Rest Stop. Don't get too close, though; the area around the rest stop is crawling with Radscorpions.



Follow the road east from the rest stop and go through the city of Nipton. You might get jumped by raiders on your way, so keep an eye on your compass.



Once you make it past Nipton, follow the road east out of town. More raiders will try to stage an ambush in a bend in the road, but you can reduce their chances of even seeing you by picking them off from a distance. Continue following this road until you come across a place called Wolfhorn Ranch on the east side of the road; follow the road NORTH from there. Heading east will take you to the irradiated ruins of Camp Searchlight, where Feral Ghouls wander in abundance.



Continue following the road north past a place called Ranger Station Charlie and keep an eye out for a giant dinosaur in the distance; that's Novac, a town situated just east of an old rocket testing facility.



Once you reach Novac, angle off to the east until you can see a highway; this is Highway 95, and you'll want to follow it north past an old gas station called El Dorado Gas %26amp; Service until you find a place known as the 188 Trading Post.



From 188 Trading Post, follow the road west, then north as it angles towards the lights of New Vegas (Following the road east from here will take you to Boulder City). What happens after I beat Fallout New Vegas?

So I recently, purchased Fallout New Vegas as of middle April 2011, and I heard that after you beat the game, it just ends. You will not be able to continue on with the side quests, leveling, and what not. This was the same after Fallout 3, then they released a patch to continue the game after the main story was completed.

Sorry to tell you this, but the game ends just like Fallout 3. Bethesda will more than likely put out a DLC allowing you to play beyond that point. If you want to play more, just never go onto the final quest. I have never did them (on the xbox, I did on the PC) because I know the game will end.

Fallout New Vegas: Is there any way to get to Freeside without running into Deathclaws?

I recently started a new fallout new vegas game and at the moment i'm stuck in the south-western most corner of the Mojave wasteland around goodsprings. I've been looking for a while now to get to places on th other side of the map, especially Novac because I want to get Boone. The problem is, I keep running into deathclaws and being only level 6 I can't really take them on right now. If anyone knows of a good route to take, I'd be grateful.

Of course - head south and follow the highway. You'll go through Primm and Nipton (which was wiped out by the Legion - look for smoke in the east to find it) and if you follow the highway further you'll eventually find Novac (head north before the sky turns an unhealthy green, that is Camp Searchlight where the Legion detonated a radiation bomb of some sort).



In short: Follow the main quest - it will lead you to Primm, Novac, Boulder City and finally Freeside/The Strip.
My way of going over there without running into a shitload of enemies or deathclaws was the mountains along the back of Primm. I a little past the Abandoned Supply Shelter (If that's the name) and only have to fight about five Viper Gang Members 1 being a leader of the vipers. Then to Novac.

Lol, it took me a while, but there's a path you can take just a bit further down the road to Freeside, but don't go too far, and if you have companions, they'll attack them on sight if they're on aggressive, so make sure to make them passive, and then you cut through the country side and make your way to Neil's shack and you can do Black Mountain's quest, which gives good exp.
If you just go north from Novak you will hit New Vegas and shouldn't see any deathclaws. The only way to avoid the death claws going up the west side of the map it to take the canyons behind good spring but those canyon are filled with the mutant flys which can kill you almost as fast as a deathclaw at that level.Fallout New Vegas: Is there any way to get to Freeside without running into Deathclaws?
No, you cannot, I don't believe. I had the same exact problem, the only thing I did was run, run, run, and stay in the shadows sneaking close to cliffs. Good Luck!!

yes!! im pretty sure ur talking about the query by SLOAN.. and around that area but if you go far right from that you will come accross neils shack who is a super mutant but friendly and he will warn you about black mountain and how if you come across any other super mutants they are to shoot you on site, commanded by there leader tabitha!! but if you stay clear of BM by going a little to the left you could make it.. and for more info sort of before neils shack there is another shack with a ammunition box and a small crate on the shelves with some fission batterys in it.. and of course i took them because im also at the beginning of the game and when i am i will take anything that i think i can make a buck off of ahha

I have a 2nd video that details how to get to Camp McCarran from Novac (skip the rest of the video once you get to McCarran). I also did this at level 1. From Camp McCarran, head north till you dead end to the wall, east to the NCR Sharecropper Farm (or something like that), then north until you run into it. You won't run directly into it, so make sure to check your map for map markers (the hollow triangles, which depict locations you haven't discovered). Fallout 3 and NV are for the most part the same game. You have a weaker story in general in NV and the main quest fractures to a point where once you make one specific decision there are 3 different ways to get to the end (and you really can't change your mind or play all three unless you decide to restart the game). The only real advantage to NV is the hardcore mode where you need to eat sleep and keep hydrated or you will die as well as a little better companion interaction aspect. You can easily put hundreds of hours into NV if you did it with 3.

What are the differences between Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3?
New Vegas is much less immersive, you don't get that desolate wasteland feel, although the hardcore mode is a good improvement. There are also a lot more weapons in new vegas but most of them aren't fun to use(the down the sights thing is better). The voice acting is about the same, impressive, the soundtrack is lacking though.

The overall story while better in some ways, it's certainly worse in others.

You get the feeling as if there aren't any right decisions, everything has good AND bad repercussions, which is better than the whole Good, Bad, Neutral thing, but it lacks depth, F3 was had so much personal growth, you play the character through their entire life, while in NV you just wake up after being knocked out and somehow your whole previous life disappears(except for a few subtle parts that annoyed me like at one part you find out someone didn't take a job cause you did but they never explain how he knew you).You can make it last 100 hours and still have fun, but it doesn't seem to strike the same nerve as the first one.
Ok if you don't have the DLC for fallout 3, then there are so many more glitches in fallout New Vegas, but if you are going to get the game of the year edition of fallout 3 then that will give you the same amount of glitches. As for story Fallout 3 has a better story for the main story, but Fallout New Vegas has a better DLC story and has a nice scare factor, (DLC I am talking about for Fallout New Vegas is called Dead Money). and they both seem to have a same amount of play time. The guns in New Vegas are new, you can now take damage in V.A.T.S and there is a Hardcore mode now.What are the differences between Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3?
I play both on ps3 and have the platinum trophies for both games. Fallout 3 has a better story line in my opinion and the dlc's for it are much better than dead money. fallout 3 has more of a barren wasteland feel to it and if you buy broken steel you can continue playing for weeks, new vegas on the other hand has a weeker main story line but you can choose what faction you work for and decide the fate of new vegas, where as on fallout 3 you are limmited to only working for the one faction, also fallout new vegas has loads of glitches and you cant have a decent session without it freezing. Overall i would suggest buying fallout 3 :)
I am still playing fallout 3 but I read that Fallout New Vegas is developed by people from the original Fallout series so it is more authentic in spirit and have a much broader gameplay. Good thing is that it is still based on the Fallout 3 engine so we won't need a better computer to play. I am definitely going to try that after this.
Fallout new vegas is amazing!! its my favorite game ever and is probably the best game of all time and im not exaggerating. the exploring is basically endless! lots of unique, rare, and different types of weapons.. and not to mention the armor. there tons of different paths to take, factions to join by doing quests, and the ones you cant join have quests too! and to me the story line in new vegas is alot better than fallout 3.

It is an amazing game. I've played very little of Fallout 3 but, I found myself instantly entertained by New Vegas. The story line of discovering your "murderer" is interesting and is woven perfectly with various side-quests. The landscape is more open than the Capital Wasteland in my opinion and there seems to be more of a variety of the clans you can associate yourself with. I have it for the xbox 360 and it runs with very few glitches.

i personally am a diehard fallout fan. I completely love the game and everything about it. Except for the DLC's, dead money and honest hearts, i really think they bombed on those. fallout 3's DLC's were amazing, but bethesda sucked with these new ones.

A pretty good game, but too me it feels more like another add on to Fallout3. The only thing I think is different is that you can actually aim in it. Oh and your on the west coast again. Glorious. Its an awesome game for pc, the storyline is awesome (and has 4 branches!). I have it for pc tho, apparently for 360 it has a lot longer loading times and stuff. I dunno, wait for someone with a 360s opinion. IMO, its an awesome game, maybe better than fo3.

I've always been a console gamer so I know almost nothing about PC games. I know if your purchase a game through Steam it will auto update but the Ultimate Edition of New Vegas isn't available on Steam. If I got down to GameStop and buy it what is required to get the newest update?

It still needs to be registered on Steam. When it is, it just counts as New Vegas + all the DLC which is what it is. Steam updates games automatically when an update is available, so you don't have to do anything other than have Steam open.

What is the Most Fun way to play through Fallout New vegas?

I've played through Fallout New Vegas once. I had so many great weapons and went so many places but messed up and over wrote my save game so now I'm stuck in the very last mission. I probably took the easy way out and sucked up to the NCR the first time through. i also sucked up to the NCR the first time i played it through lol, but i also saved it before a point where the legion would hate me so much i couldn't help them anymore and i did the same for mr house, and the yes man and NCR quests run the same so i was able to work with the NCR right til the end, then reload before the hoover dam battle and turn in all my quests to yes man and get that achievement. i reloaded to work with the legion and then mr house.

that's just how i did it so i could play all 4 ways but not start all the way at the beginning again :)
Fallout: New Vegas has some amazing moments, though walking out of the doctor's shack and setting eyes on the world for the first time isn't quite as climactic as exiting the vault for the first time was in Fallout 3. Here are the ways that will allow you access to the New Vegas Strip in the game:



(1) Have 2000 caps on you and you will be allowed in.

(2) Have a science skill of 80 will allow you to hack the police robots and they will let you in.

(3) Buy a fake passport from Mick %26amp; Ralph's by passing a speech challenge with Ralph.

(4) Help the King in the quest GI Blues and tell him that you need a way to get to the Strip.

(5) Use the mono-rail train located in Camp McCarran. You will be given access if you are friends with the NCR, have Boone as your companion, or wearing an NCR uniform.
The 2000 cap fee with the Securitron is not a fee, just a check to see that you have that much money. You get the money back. The only reason to have to spend money is that you haven't got the cash to meet that check or the science skills to bypass it. You can avoid this issue entirely by getting enough respect from the King, mostly by helping with his NCR problem, that he simply gives you one, or by recruiting Boone, with whom you may freely ride the NCR monorail without issue. The best way to get a passport is to talk to the King. He'll give you several quests earning you caps and at the end, when you satisfy him, you can get one request from him. You can request a passport for free earning you good reputation for Freeside and the King members. It may not be quick, but it's easy and fun.
You can buy one from Mick and Ralphs by the eastern door. Its on the left as you come through.



OR



If you complete the Knig's quests he gives you called GI Blues you get an achievement (or whatever you have) and you also get the option to choose from some rewards. One of these rewards is to get a free pass from Mick and Ralphs.

For the PC you'll get better graphics, better frames per second, mod ability, assuming you have a PC that can play the game well. For the console, Bloom lighting, AA, v-sync,and all other graphic enhancements are not put into it because the hardware can't handle it and play the game in decent frame rates. Arcade Gannon-Location-In Freeside, in the Old Mormon Fort, where, the "Followers Of the Apocolapyse", stay.



Lily-Location-Jacobstown. You can find the location of Jacobstown, in the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside. Julia Farkas will give you the location, when you start the quest, "Nothin' but a Hound Dog".



Rex-Location-Freeside, in "The Kings". He is a dog, you can get from The King. You can find the King in Freeside.



Cass-Location-Mojave Outpost, in the Mojave Outpost Bar, sitting in a chair. You'll have to finish the quest, "Heartache by the Number", first, which you can start, by talking to Cass.



ED-E-Location-Primm, in the door which you can see, when you first enter Primm, on your right. I forgot what the door was called though.

You have to find them and recruit them. You'll have to do a quest as well. Arcade Gannon and Veronica are the only ones I know that you don't have to do a quest for. They're both great.

Arcade Gannon is found at the Old Mormon Fort at Freeside. You need a certain speech level or the Confirmed Bachelor perk to recruit him. (If you help the Legion, he'll eventually leave you.)

Veronica is found at Trading Post 188, a ways SouthEast from Vegas. You just have to tell her that you'll take her out to see the open world. (If you kill enough Brotherhood members, she'll leave you.

Rex is a cyberdog, and he is found also in Freeside. He's obtained by doing a few quest for the leader of the Kings Gang, the King.

If you like to do some sniping i have the perfect companion for you. When you get to the town with the big dinosaur and the motel (forgot name sorry) east of the REPCON facility. There will be two snipers living in this town that used to work for the NCR but now protect the town. They switch guard shifts in the dinosaurs mouth when the sun goes down and when it comes up. Look for Boone, his wife was kidnapped and he asks you to find who is responsible for her disappearance. You can go around and ask all the town folk but do not waste your time. At night sneak into the motel lobby and behind the desk there will be a safe on the ground. It is a easy lock pick and there will be proof that the motel owner, a older lady, is the culprit. The quest will have you lead her in front of the dinosaur during Boone's shift and he will blow her brains out! Go talk to him and show the proof. After this you can talk to him and he will join you to seek vengeance against the Legion(the slavers who bought his wife). He is a valuable companion as a sniper because he gives you a spotter perk. Whenever you are looking through a scope you enemies will glow, even at night. Plus he does some major damage with his sniper.
To get companions to you need to find them and friend then.

Obsidian did not publish it. Bethesda did. Obsidian produced/created it. The only thing Bethesda had to do with this game was that they created the engine the game uses and they are distributing it for Obsidian.

The publisher/distributor is the one who takes the final product and ships %26amp; markets it and makes deals to get it sold in stores or online.

There is no way to gain access. If you ask the Vendertron how he got in there, he will state that it was built around him (he's a robot...He doesn't need to excrete waste or drink or eat...). I don't think you are going to find an ultimate good to side with. You could set things up to make yourself ruler of Vegas, and hope you end up being a good ruler. I haven't finished the game yet, but so far it looks like in the end 1 of 4 entities will end up in control of Vegas.



1. The Legion is very strong and very capable of protecting and maintaining their culture. The drawback is their culture is pretty backward. Medical science and pharmaceuticals are illegal. Captured people's are slaves with no rights. All women are without rights. If you aren't part of the Legion, you are an enemy of the Legion. All crimes are punishable by death by Crucifixion.



2. The NCR has a promising history, but a troublesome present. Historically, NCR forged a Republic based on equity and equality from the chaos of the wasteland. However, in recent years the NCR has fallen to the usual weaknesses of bureaucracy. Corruption, low morale, and xenophobia are all characteristics seen in the NCR in FNV. If New Vegas were to join NCR things might become better in time. It is also possible NCR would prefer only to secure the electrical resources of Hoover Dam and leave Vegas to whatever fate awaits it.



3. Mr. House is a religious fanatic, and his god is his-self. He has a plan and anyone who does not serve it must get out of the way, or be rolled over. Hundreds have already been rolled over, and hundreds more have gotten out of the way. You can find a lot of people who hate House, but most of them are afraid to say so. House has the potential to be the most stable force of all the available factions because he is immortal and nearly omniscient. If NCR and Legion kick the crap out of each other, he will also be omnipotent. His plan is to take humanity back to where it was before the Apocalypse, and he will balk at no atrocity required to get us there. So far he has displaced a handful of tribes and a sealed Vault, and slaughtered the members of those groups who didn't get out the way fast enough. His only weakness is his trust in you.



4. You. The man who shot you had a plan to usurp Mr. House as ruler of Vegas. If you want to, you might be able to use that plan yourself.

I went with killing Mr. house and going with the yes man robot. I didn't think the NCR had the power to get things done, and there is something wrong with a leader who crucified his enemies on telephone poles. Plus having your own robot army with rockets and all that good stuff is bad ***. And how could you resist his happy face while killing the general of the NCR?
I chose the legion all the way... Their un merciful culture leads to amazing assassination missions and brutal murders and crusifictions. And everyone in the legion is so dedicated to their work. Doing it by yourself is much more rewarding. Be nice to them at first to get side missions and do those but killing everyone gives you all faction's weapons, armor, supplies, etc. not including the most experience.

Once you get the NCR Ranger Combat Armor, you'll feel like a total ******* bad ***. And you are. Plus, the Legion are a bunch of douchebags. And Mr. House is old. I don't trust old computer people.

I chose to just do everything by myself, and it's turned out pretty good.

Exit Steam completely. Do not have it running to avoid it taking control of anything. Insert your disk. Wait for the installer to autorun...if it does not. Start %26gt; My Computer %26gt; Right click DVD Drive containing game disk %26gt; Explore %26gt; Double click something along the lines of Setup or Launch. Developers use the two names interchangeably for some reason.

Click Next a bunch of times...insert CD key when prompted. That should be straight forward.

Now. When its done installing...Start Steam. I can't remember the exact process off the top of my head or if you even need to anymore. But you have to tell Steam that the game exists. If it asks for a CD Key...give Steam your CD Key. That way the key will be on your account forever.How do you install fallout New Vegas from the disk?

dude by far the best weapon in the game go to hellious one and complete the quest "that lucky old sun" at the end you will have a choice on where you wish to rig the power to... CHOOSE ARCHIMEDES II soon after completing the quest go to the east side of freeside where you will find a boy (max) chasing a girl (i believe sarah) buy the gun off of him either for 1000 caps or 20 depending on your barter level and then you may use this weapon once every 24 hours. ITS F**KING amazing

44 cal maginum - cant remeber where i picked it up

357 mag with mods is also working pretty good for me quite easy to find around the wasteland



ALSO if you want good weapons fast visit either vault 34 if you have hardley any caps go down to the amory just check fallout wikia on how to get there they've got some pretty sweet weapons (make sure you take either a space suit or radiation suit and rad x/away and a couple of stealth boys) OR if you have money "caps" find the brotherhood of steel get down into their bunker and look for the woman that sells you stuff down there she has some pretty cool shiz too. Sniper rifle / gobi campaign sniper rifle ( 100 lock pick required ) - sneak attack with better criticals is almost always a 1 shot kill.



unique guass rifle ( i forget the name...YCS something ) - found on mercenary in a mercenary camp north west of the strip



unique minigun - in a crater north east of lake mead



and if you feel like wasting ammo but also having some fun:



a unique tesla cannon, tesla beaton prototype - found in a crater guarded by at least 5 or 6 hardened sentry bots and mister gutsys south east of Nipton.
This Machine, given at the end of a quest in Camp McCarran.



Maria, gained after killing Benny.



Machete Gladius, can be found on high ranking Legion members.



Annabelle, acquired from the super mutant sniper in Utolbitha.



Vance's 9mm Submachine gun, all the way up north, there are 2 Bonnie and Clyde type characters, acquire it from them.
There are alot of great guns in the game, and in my opinion, the best ones come from Fiends or Powder Gang Members.

My favorite is the Caravan Shotgun. It uses 20 gauge bullets (i think) and I picked it up the first day from a dead Powder Ganger. Just make sure to always search the people you kill, and you'll definitely pick up some sick guns.

ok you can find anti material rifle , sniper rifle , .22 silenced smg , and other cool stuff at gun runners which is near the vegas gate ..... north I think where mick and ralph's store is ... if cant find it go to the farm thingys that have metal gate and the entrance way the gate is torn up ,,, inside ask the woman for direction , she stands there near the gate or somewhere inside .. talk to her , ask for directions

HIDDEN VALLEY ... theres a bunker you go through there... work for em , get to like you , then when no more missions , quick travel somewhere , wait for a 2 3 days , come back and talk to the elders . and the option of you wanting to join the brotherhood will appear , join them and in the armory you can get the best and top notch weapons .



other mediocre weapons such as plasma rifle , laser rifle , plasma grenade , plasma mine and all that can be found at a store called silver rush at the vegas . There are another store at Nipton , and theres a gun called THAT GUN ... DONT buy it ... waste of caps ... I have 250 000 caps but when I had 500 I worked for an hour , got 1000 caps , got that gun and it was a waste :(

I noticed a sale for the fallout new Vegas game of the year edition. It contains all the DLCs and I'm interested in getting it, cause it's on sale for a good price, but I have quite some progress in fallout new Vegas already, because I bought the regular edition a few months ago. If I get the game of the year edition, will my data disappear because the disk is new? And by the way, it's for playstation 3. No, the saved data is on,your consoles hard drive. Nothing is saved on the disks.

Most likely yes, yes the existing data will be be only on the one disc. The new copy will be clean. Unless, maybe the creators have fingered this out and made it so that you could use an existing account. But mostly I think you'll half to create an new account.
No it will not erase. Its saved to the hard drive of the ps3, not the disk.

I have looked up this game online and from what I gathered, Bethesda has plans to make Fallout 4 somewhere down the line, if they haven't already started doing so.



What is New Vegas, then?



Is it akin to the Shivering Isles of Oblivion in the sense that it's not a full sequel?Is Fallout: New Vegas a completely new game in the franchise or more like a lengthy expansion?
It is a brand new storyline that should start and end in that one simple game. Just about every fallout game has begun and ended in the same game for a new story to come in the next one. If you havn't already looked at the story line or know what it's about....... You are delivering messages between factions and why you go to deliver an important one somebody comes kills you, then leaves you there. With that a robot (can't remember the name) comes to save you where his master fix's you up and then you are on a quest to go find who killed you and why.
Well to be honest if you really wish to know you should look for The Vault it's a Wiki page that tells you most anything about the game the devolpers and how the games tie into one another. It so detailed it can tell you exactly what the hidden skill Nerve from fallout New Vegas is and does.

I don't even think Bethesda evern tried working in this game, I mean look at Sega in 2006 when they launched Sonic 06. I mean it's completly glitched out and uncomplete. New Vegas isn't a direct sequel to Fallout 3, I think of it as an expansion pack. Still played it all though........

though bethesda has the rights to fallout they have contracted a developer named obisdian entertainment to create fallout new vegas. fallout new vegas is based off the same engine as fallout 3, albeit a heavily upgraded version. the map is larger in scope then fallout 3 and the story does not in any way relate to fallout 3. and no it isnt an expansion, i mean how many expansions do you know that have taken the better part of two years to make
It's a completely new game and I found some exclusive videos on the gameplay so you can decide if you want to get it.
It's a spin-off of sorts. Completely new game.

It's not an expansion, it's not a sequel, and it doesn't particularly follow the main story as Fallout 4 will.
its all new and more in-depth.

now you do have to worry about, eating, drinking, sleeping.... all basic human needs have to be taken care of.
It's a different story line.

Honestly.... i dont even know why you would be playing this game on the PC.. just go play it on your xbox or ps3. not to be that guy, i mean this is a legitimate question, but why not just play it on a console if you have one, and basically everybody has one.
Change Setting from INI Files



Some multi-core hardware incompatible with the game may result in Fallout New Vegas crashes, freezes, and BSOD errors.



Do these steps:



1. Click Start | Documents.

2. Double click: My Games | FalloutNV

3. Open a file named fallout.ini

4. Look for the string named bUseThreadedAI=0

5. Replace 0 with 1

6. Insert an another line beneath the above, iNumHWThreads=2

7. Save the changes you have made and close the file. [Press Ctrl + S to save.]

8. Click Start | Computer.

9. Double click: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas, assuming C be the installation directory.

10. Double click the file named fallout_default.ini

11. Do the steps 4 to 7 above.



Update Graphics Driver and DirectX



Keep your drivers up to date. Download a latest version of the graphics driver. Download DirectX from Microsoft's website. This will prevent Fallout New Vegas crashes due to poor drivers.



Fix and Defrag the Registry

I helped Caesar's Legion to much and now N.C.R hates me and attacks me on sight. I have tried going to their embassy in New Vegas but the ambassador isn't their so i can't work for them and clean my slate.
