My Fallout New Vegas crashes just after the bethesda screen at the start,what can i do?

My game crashes after i click my desktop icon and it loads the first screen but 5 seconds later my game crashes, I have some mods installed and i know they might be the problem but Ive already disabled all of them in FoMM, the game was running well until i installed the "Unified HUD project 2.2"

and the HUD patch for "New Vegas Project" Hope you can help me, Thanks to Bethesda for the complete fallout series and thanks for your time.My Fallout New Vegas crashes just after the bethesda screen at the start,what can i do?

Well easily take out the disk and wipe it (showing no dirt) or buy a new game simple as that

Honestly.... i dont even know why you would be playing this game on the PC.. just go play it on your xbox or ps3. not to be that guy, i mean this is a legitimate question, but why not just play it on a console if you have one, and basically everybody has one.
Change Setting from INI Files



Some multi-core hardware incompatible with the game may result in Fallout New Vegas crashes, freezes, and BSOD errors.



Do these steps:



1. Click Start | Documents.

2. Double click: My Games | FalloutNV

3. Open a file named fallout.ini

4. Look for the string named bUseThreadedAI=0

5. Replace 0 with 1

6. Insert an another line beneath the above, iNumHWThreads=2

7. Save the changes you have made and close the file. [Press Ctrl + S to save.]

8. Click Start | Computer.

9. Double click: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas, assuming C be the installation directory.

10. Double click the file named fallout_default.ini

11. Do the steps 4 to 7 above.



Update Graphics Driver and DirectX



Keep your drivers up to date. Download a latest version of the graphics driver. Download DirectX from Microsoft's website. This will prevent Fallout New Vegas crashes due to poor drivers.



Fix and Defrag the Registry



Windows Registry is the database containing the information, like user settings, operating system and application data, for the functioning of your computer.



You may opt for some secured program such as McAfee secured RegInOut to defrag registry.





Run the Game in Compatibility Mode and as an Administrator



Try running the Fallout New Vegas in compatibility mode so as to stop crashing. To do so, perform these steps:



1. Right click the game file located in the Start Menu.

2. Select Properties.

3. Click Compatibility tab.

4. Check-up the box named Run this program for compatibility mode for, and select either Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista Service Pack 3 from the drop down box.

5. Check up the box named Run the program as an administrator.

6. Click OK button.

7. Open the game now.



Change Game Settings



Try changing a little setting:

1. Open the game.

2. Click Options.

3. Check up the box named Windowed.

4. Click OK button.
